How it Works:
You know that piece you set aside thinking to yourself "This is perfect for ebay! I know I'll do it this weekend." Yeah right. How long ago was that? 6 months ago? 2 years ago? Let us make it easy for you. Simply call us and tell us about your item. If necessary, we can come to you. We will show you comparables for items similar to yours giving you a good idea of what they have sold for in the past. If you are comfortable with the price range you are likely to hit then leave the rest to us.
Once you decide to let us put your item or items on ebay, we will take high quality digital photographs, write concise and extremely efective description of your item, handle all bidder inquiries, and pack and ship your item or items. We will collect payment from the winning bidder and mail you a check once the sale is complete.
It Is That Simple!!!
We offer two service plans for you to choose from.
1. Our Silver Listing Plan (basic)
This plan is our basic solution meeting the needs of most people. There are no upfront costs and you get all of this:
- a 7 day listing with a starting bid of $10.00 - an estimate of what type of price range your item will sell for - professional digital photos - an extensive multi-photo gallery - buyer invoicing and payment processing - professional packing and shipping of your item
2. Our Platinum Listing Plan (Upgraded Service)
This plan is our premium solution for those interesed in a higher level of exposure. There is an up front charge of $20.00 for this service plan. The Platinum Listing Plan includes all of the same features as the Silver Listing Plan plus much more:
- set a higher opening bid than $10.00 - BOLD TYPE TITILE to help listing stand out - subtitle listing for a better description - 10 day listing - choose a "Buy It Now" price - set a reserve depending on the value of your item
Onsite Large Item Service and Item Pick Up Service
Onsite Large Item Service Plan:
For large items, we offer our Onsite Large Item Service Plan. We will come to you, take photos, and reasearch your item. Upon completion of the auction, we will coordinate a convenient pickup between you and the buyer. There is a fee of $25.00 per visit for this plan. The Onsite Large Item Service Plan includes:
- onsite research of your item - Our Silver Listing Plan - you may upgrade to our Platinum Service Plan for an additional up front fee of $20.00
Pick Up Service Plan:
We offer Pick Up Service for Hampton Roads for a $30.00 per pick up fee. We will come to you pick up your item and handle everything from there. The Pick Up Service Plan includes:
- friendly Item Pick Up Service anywhere in Hampton Roads - Our Silver Listing Plan - you may updrade to our Platinum Service Plan for an additional up front fee of $20.00
Our Fees:
Downtown Auction Company charges the following in commission fees:
- 40% on the first $500 - 30% on the next $2000 - 20% on anything over $2500
Ebay Fees:
Ebay charges the folowing fees on every succesfull auction:
- 8.75% of the first $25 - 3.5% of the next $975 - 1.5% of anything over $1,000 - 3% Payment Processing Fee (Pay Pal)
You can expect to receive payment within 30 days from the conclusion of the auction. Some payments maybe delayed if a buyer is delayed in paying for the item. If the event that a buyer fails to pay for your item, we will relist the item free of charge. All payments will be based on the results of the relist auction.
